Gross-Glockner, Nockalm Strasse and the Dolomites
Imagine visiting a place which actively encourages bikers to tour the area, not just with sign boards, but also with brochures containing touring tips, biker meeting points and facilities for bikers at restuarants and museums, such as free lockers for helmets and other kit. I even saw a hotel sign offering reduced room rates for motorcyclists. The Gross-Glockner High Alpine road between Zell-am-See and Lienz, the Nockalm Street, above Villach and the Dolomites offer all this and more. Road use tickets are not cheap, averaging around 15-27 euros, but some hotels will provide guests with "free" tickets.
