Picos Mountains
This was my Spain trip, on which I visited Pamplona, the Bardenas Reales desert east of Tudela, then Murcia and Torrevieja on the south coast. The journey then went on to the Sierra Nevada and around Andalucia, Extremadura, Portugal, Galicia, Asturia and the Picos mountains.
Sierra Nevada
The Picos Mountains area is by far the most picturesque of all of Spain. Great winding roads and possibilities to go off-road, but most of the lanes and areas I could find were once again of the gravel and stone type, and guides and regular visitors confirmed that most of the trails were of that kind, exept when it rained. I stayed in La Coruna, rode along the nothern coast line to Pola de Laviana, which I used as a base for touring the Picos mountains for three days. At Riano, a huge lake with a vast dried out area in the centre offered excellent mud and soil riding. Finally!!!

Torrevieja beach
Galizia is located on the north west tip of the Spanish peninsula, and has a beautiful coast line and lots of green and interesting landscapes. On my way there I passed through a national park in northern Portugal and stayed at a place called Chavez before riding to La Coruna, a seaside city with a lighthouse called the Hercules Tower.
Farmers tracks open to the public provided some off-roading around their fields and into forests, partially burnt out.
