This was my first ever trip to Wales, which took place in 2003, and stayed in Crickhowell and visited the castle ruins. I rode onto Aberystwyth on the A44, visited Llanidloes lake and the Rheindol valley. The way back was on the A 4120, and at the junction with the B 4574, I entered the Elan valley, the absolute highlight of the trip, with its isolated appearance, lakes and damms that are a must see for any visitor to Wales.
